The history of body painting and henna dates back hundreds, maybe even thousands of years when people painted or applied henna for various reasons. Face and body paints were used in Tribal and Religious Ceremonies. Throughout the generations face painting and henna has grown to be used more in the entertainment field from makeup for special effects in movies to clowning. Face painting became popular as a children's activity about 20 years ago. Modern materials make it easy and safe to apply and produce colourful, creative designs.
